Sunday ride

We had a great ride today. Started mid-morning, still a bit chilly but nice enough. We went up hwy 10 to Cle Elum and went to the fish hatchery looking for spawning salmon. None in so off to Lake Cle Elum dam. That was a bust so we tried the Cooper River bridge where we saw lots of salmon doing their thing. There were plenty of dead salmon in the river too so the cycle is being completed. I wish all the local schools would take the time to have some field trips so the kids could see some of the neat things here in the NW. There is a lot of fall color around the Salmon La Sac area. Mostly vine Maple but very bright yellows and reds. Not many days left this fall. There was a lot of snow on the nearby peaks.

Just beat the rain

Had a pretty good ride for about an hour or so. We tried to go between rains and just beat a whopper back to the barn. We were out looking for a bit of fall color. The Yakima canyon is beginning to turn and a few Oaks here and there. Saw lots of deer and some turkeys. Hope the nice days return for a few more weekends.

Battery Life

What's the expected life of a factory battery? I used to believe it was 1 year. However, I have an 07 1300T equipped with the original battery that went into service January of 08. It has approximately 6000 miles. It fires up with out hesitation. Am I riding on borrowed time? Thanks for your feedback.

Hope for a weather break this weekend

This weekend sounds like a really wet one in the northwest and central Washington. We hope there is a bit of a break so we can get in a ride. We would like to get up to the Teanaway and maybe see some early fall colors. It can be very nice scenery up there. I need to learn how to post some photos of our trips but old guys do always get that sort of thing well figured out.
