Resent Upgrades

I have recently installed the RSTD bars, oh what a difference. It is like riding a different bike. It took me so long to do so, for fear of not liking them and being out the money. It is well worth it. I am 5’9” and was having the lean forward effect. I was also having pains in my elbows (from my arms being stretched out all the way.

Before reading all the posts about buffeting, I thought all the wind and bobble head effects were normal. (you are riding a machine out in the open doing 70+ MPG) I started paying more attention to the zones of calm, putting my hand on front of me, in front of my knees, etc. I even put my feet on the engine guards; this was amazing the difference that made. So I decided to buy the HD lowers. It is an easy install and half the price of bucks. This made a considerable difference, not perfect but considerable. I am going to start adjusting the windshield next. I will not be able to for a few days, I will let you know the outcome then.

It is amazing the difference a couple upgrades can make in the enjoyment of the ride. I would like to thank everyone here for all the good posts. Keep them coming.

Roadstravelled on Keegstar

It is a beautiful day here in the Southern Tier of NY, Horseheads to be exact. I am heading out shortly on Keegstar (affectionately named after my daughter Keegan) for a business meeting. I bought my 1300 Tourer thirteen months ago and am heading toward 11,000 miles already. This not bad for being in upstate NY :) I found this site while searching for ideas to fix the buffeting problems I was facing. I have to say thank you to the founders of this forum, it has become a many times daily visit for me. Since Keegstar has joined the family there have been a few additions. I began with a luggage rack. I then found myself with an aching back halfway to work in the mornings and opted for a Mustang rider and passenger seat with rider backrest to address that issue. I am happy to say the back pain has gone for good. Thanks Mustang! Buck's lowers came next in an attemt to help with the buffeting. The lowers did help but did not eliminate the problem. The next was a leather bag to throw on the luggage rack for trips to and from my office, which happens to be an 85 mile highway commute one way. Passing lamps for safety came next, followed closely by highway bars and highway pegs. After joining this forum I devoured everything having to do with the windhsield issues that are known to all of he V Star 1300 Tourer riders. I decided to take some advice and elongated the mounting hole to allow the windshield to be tilted. I can honestly say I was shocked at the result. My buffeting issue is now virtually non-existant!

V-Star 1300 >>to a V-Star 1300 Dragstyle

I started Customizing my Bike in January 2008.
and i will be Finish in Winter 2009. Since there is no Atftermarket here in Germany we did and Build all by ourselfs.
The front Fender ist GFK and the Rearfender Steel , we Build complete new Strut under the fender.
In Winter 2009 there comes a 250 back tire on an 8,5x18 Rim. I won´t buy new rims, we will wide the stock rims, the Rims will be Powdercoated in flatblack, and a view more things like the fork will be Powdercoated. Plus Lowering kit. And i might change the Colour of the Bike into Flatorange with Black stripes.

If there are any Question.....don´t be afraid to ask
