Seashell (the champagne color) is the most elegant as well. If you just want to attract a fast chick, go with a fast color. But if you want an elegant woman, go for the seashell. Hardly a day goes by that my wife doesn't mention, "we're going for a bike ride this evening, right?"
I've been wondering why the blue has disappeared as an option...something seemed fishy. Well, after pulling some strings, cashing in on some favors owed and a few well placed bribes I discovered that the government has made Galaxy Blue unavailable to the public....in the interest of national security. There have been tests, conducted by NASA primarily, and preliminary results seem to indicate that this is one fast color. It has been determined that a spacecraft painted this color could make the trip to Mars in half the time as a traditionally painted craft.
I've seen this post come around a few times and finally couldn't resist settling the issue. Black is actually not a color. It is an absence of light reflection. That clearly means that light can't catch a black bike! Light travels at 3 x 10(8) meters per second. This is also why you never see photos of a black bike on the move. When I took the last pictures in my front yard of Dixie, I actually had to aim the camera about 10 feet in front of the bike to snap the shot. And the engine wasn't even running. 'Nuff said. School is dismissed.
I have the 2007 V Star Tourer in the delicious red color. I have never received as many comments on one of my bikes as I get with this one. The red just looks fast!
The only reason silver is lagging in the polls, is we feel smug in our superiority, and don't feel the need to vote. Have you seen the metal flake on the silver ones? Looks just like the finish of the intake port of a properly ported head. Much less wind resistance than those gooey, sticky, colors.
Went riding to the San Francisco Bay area today. Nice weather. Visited the USS Hornet at the old Alameda NAS. On the way home with wife riding shotgun and pushing a big a$$ windshield in front, got this red devil up to 105 for about 15 seconds then dialed it down. Only mod is the Roadhouse slipons. Yup, this bikes a keeper!
I have not seen anyone post anything in the forums.
Has anyone had official government documentation of speed as measured by radiofrequency or laser measuring device operated by public servant?
The proof my local civil servants gave me week ago for my black beauty is 109 mph. He proably would have gotten better but I was right on top of him before he saw me.
Go to the Image Gallery, then to the Yamaha 1300 Tourer, then to page 4 and look under the heading Rudolph has been replaced. Delivering toys to children around the world in one night. I rest my case.
I'm not sure how they got involved with this. but they have documented proof from the space station of a BLACK 1300 t going 1,325.6 mph with 2 riders and pulling a trailer..
The cops have the red ones pulled over as we blend in to the crowd and fly by ,,,lol Hope you all have a wonderful day going to be close 75 today got go riding :)
I thought that I would let everybody now just how fast the red one is, I'm not braging but, my red babby can have the speedo berried (130mph) and back to 0 before she gets past the garage door. Now if you can beat that one you can claim braging rights.
The red rocket cruser
I beleave this poll has been rigged and is now unfair. And i'm going to see if Hillary has been involved...There is no way any one the other fine 1300's could be faster then the raven...
Someone needs to get out and ride....................'which color is faster"?...........................what next.........................my daddie is stronger then your daddie, my momma can out arm wrestle your momma..................................................
Besides the fact........EVERYONE knows that the black ones are faster.................duh........:>)
Ok.. I have to weigh in here. Now my red is plenty fast.. but is that really the issue? Cruisers aren't meant to be fast. They're meant to be ridden comfortably and ogled by envious admirers. You can't get much appreciative ogling at 100+ mph. The slower you go, the more attention you get, the more people get to see what a REAL bike looks like. Bottom line is that it doesn't matter what color is your preference. They all look great on these wonderful pieces of machinery.

New 08 Seashell
All I can say is that I bought my new Seashell Tuesday of last week. It was so fast it arrived the day before I bought it.
Not only fast, but ...

Now for the truth (and no, I will not reveal my sources)

I thought that I would let everybody now just how fast the red one is, I'm not braging but, my red babby can have the speedo berried (130mph) and back to 0 before she gets past the garage door. Now if you can beat that one you can claim braging rights.

I think we need spring to arrive....... and very soon. We have a certain color bike because that's what we prefer. So happens I prefer the red one :-)
Dave
Oh no!
The same topics rules on forums when bike is great machine that do not have enough problems to discuss. I've seen same thing for ST1300 forums.
Flooooooood ))
PS. All you knows, REDs are fastest ones.... Mine is so quick, that still avoid any camera tries to get picture of her...

...oh yea, I think GALAXY BLUE is going to claim the the title in drag-racing too, with a pass of 13.766 @ 94.03mph
GALAXY BLUE is the Champ! WooHoo GALAXY BLUE!!
Up to a certain speed
At the curb and up to about 28.5 miles per hour the red ones are faster specially in winter. ~ Butch
