Hey Will, feel free to remove this poll.

Stock tire is garbage

I'll be lucky to get 5000 miles on my stock tire. With only 3600 miles on my stock tire I only have 3/32" tread left. Since Metzler is now listing the 880 Marathon in the 180/70/16 radial as a suitable replacement for the XVS 1300 I'll be getting this tire for my bike. I'll probably have it on my bike by early July.

Dave

Which do you have?

Do you have the Bridgestone or the Dunlop? I have the Dunlop, and with 5,500 miles on it, it still has 3/4 of the original tread depth (.135").

Tire replacement

There needs to be more options in the selection. I will be replacing with Metzler ME880 and there is an Avon tire that is available as well.
With the Metzler you run a radial on the rear and a bias ply on the front and there are no reported problems using this combination. Several on the
Delphi forum have over 10,000 miles on this setup and absolutely love them.

Rear Tire

Bearman is going with the Dunlop 180/170 R16 Elite 3 Radial.

Rear tire

I will go with either the Dunlop Elite 3 or the Metzler 880 180/70R-16 since Metzer has posted their recommendation on their website and that the American Tire outfit is making the same recommendation on their website. OH boy if I could find wide white walls! ~ Butch
