I have been in a real downpour with it and it kept me dry. It has zip out insulation that I have used on cool mornings (48 F ) and traveled at 55 + mph and it has been more than adequate. I am please so far. I found it at motorcyclecloseouts.com
Joe Rocket with liner and armor, wear it year around, liner out right now of course. Buddy at work never wears anything but a tee shirt. I kid him about what could happen to him if he goes down, he only rides 5 miles one way. But 2 of those miles is in town, compared to the 20 I ride one way, and on the highway. I spose I run about the same risk hitting a deer, coyote, cow, dog ect. as he does getting hit by some moron in a cage. He just cant belive that my jacket can be cool when its over 90% outside. jdadoug
I took out the pads and the liner and hauled it to Rogers and back and never wore it. Too hot. Makes a nice night jacket and fits well. Wife wears her matching jacket with all the pads in, liner out.

This jacket has been good through the Texas winter (good to 40 degrees by itself, used it in the 20's with added layers underneath) and I have used it in 80 degree weather so far. It's mesh with a rain/wind proof zip out liner, armor and is quite stylish and comfortable. I cannot attest as to the rainproof-ness of it as I have managed to evade those pesky rainstorms so far. I doubt I'll use it much when real summer hits because, even though the mesh allows good airflow, the armored backside manages to get pretty warm.
I like this jacket but doubt it's any better than the others you have listed. My primary reason for buying this one was that it came in my size (4X).
I have three leather jackets and one Castle jacket made by or sponsored by the HJC Helmet people. Retail was 100 bucks and I got it for 75 bucks through my dealer. It has inner pockets big enough to hold my checkbook, and has a separate pocket for a cell phone. The sizes run small so a person has to get the next larger size for a good fit. The fit is very good with longer sleeves that zip at the wrists. Gauntlet gloves cover the sleeve ends. There are zip vents to allow air to flow through. It is just a plain black jacket and is water resistant but not labeled waterproof. I went to a sewing store and bought velcro that is designed to iron on gortex. So I ironed velcro onto the back side of the Vstar 1300 fansite patch, and then ironed on the other velcro to the jacket. Did my wifes Tourmaster the same way. This allows us to remove the patch to use on another jacket if we want. My wifes Tourmaster is waterproof, and she has Joe Rocket Ballistic pants. We both have leather chaps too. I use fishing raingear that I bought for 85 bucks from walmart. Red and black so it kinda matches the red Vstar and our helmets. I really wanted to buy Jo Rocket Ballistic 5.0 pants for me but they changed the style. So that's out. Would be nice for November and March riding. ~ Butch
