I got a chance to ride yesterday with a few friends ( one HD, a Victory and a Suzuki ).
We did a mix of country roads as well as a trip into Syracuse for a stop at the Dinosaur BBQ.
Total of 150 miles. What a joy! The 1300 is the best all around bike I've ever been on, from the good looks to the smooth power and great handling.
I'm not sure what all the fuss about the handle bars is, they seem to fit me just right. I'm 5'9'', very average and the ride was fantastic. No pain in the shoulders or back. I found I could move around on the seat to change things up a little and the ride was very comfortable.
My fellow rides took turns on my bike and all were impressed.
I traded up from a 03 Suzuki Volusia( another very good bike) and I'm sure I made another GREAT choice.
157 mile trip
I finally got out for a ride last Saturday. Took a trip to Truman Lake to see the parents new boat (18' pontoon).
Although I would have preferred it to be 10 degrees warmer (at least), it was a blast to get out for a cruise. The trip home at 4-5pm was MUCH nicer (re : warmer).
Now it's been down in the 40-50's again and raining.
WHERE IS SUMMER!?!?!
220 Round Trip
I rode up to Rising Sun, Indiana for a Veteran's Bell Tower dedication Saturday and it was 37 degrees when I left that a.m. Doing 75 mph on I-71 in Kentucky, heading north toward Cincy, was a little chilly. Returning home it was 61 degrees and I stayed on the back roads following the Ohio River. Great ride, and the bike performed flawlessly. These are the rides I've been waiting all winter for.
