Happy to report

Went on a 3404 KM (2127 mile) ride this past week and my 1300 preformed flawlessly. I only had 2000 KM's (1250 miles) on her before this trip.

Went with three friends, one on a Honda VTX, one on a Kawasaki Vulcan and the other on a Yamaha Roadliner. The Roadliner and I got the best mileage of the four, and I had the best. Of course I have the smallest engine of the four, but I was able to keep pace with the other three.

We rode through the British Columbia Rocky Mountains. There is some really great riding there. We even rode on Highway 6, aka the number two rated motorcycle road in North America. Number two only to the Tail of the Dragon.

Had a great time on this trip, the weather was great. We went to the Toad Rock Rally, had a blast there, but the four of us kept to ourselves for our rides. Although on one of them, we had to take a 45 minute ferry ride. Well, it wasn't just the four bikes on that ferry. We were joined by about another 100 bikes. When the ferry pulled into port, we all started up our bikes around the same time. WHAT A GREAT SOUND THAT WAS! Those poor people on the tour buses though. Most were plugging their ears.

My 1300 came though with flying colours. She did exactly what I asked her to do at every stage of this five day ride.

I want to rest up for a week and do it all over again. Damn work!

Enjoyed you post

Definately sounds like you had a good time. I question the motorcycle road ratings you mentioned though?? I’ve been on many others that would rate equally as high.

I think our 1300’s stack up against any cruiser that’s currently in production, so I’m not surprised that yours came through with flying colours.

To put a twist on an old saying … “Work is the curse of the drinking class”. : - )

Not my rating

The #2 rating on this particular road is not my rating. It is a rating I have heard from numerous people. Locals to the road and non locals. Doesn't matter though. It was fun, and that is all that counts.

I do agree that the 1300's stack up against any other cruiser in production. I have seen it first hand. I had a power commander installed on my bike just before this trip. With the thin air in the mountains, I had to have it set at maximum fuel economy. But when I have it set on maximum horse power, she can keep up with the 1900 Roadliner without a problem. I wanna have it Dyno tested to see what the difference in HP actually is.

Very Happy

I just got back form a trip to Highlands, N.C...Rode the bike the first day to Stonemountain from Tampa ,spent the next day and half with my brother . then went in into N.C.. Rode the mountains for a day highlands in to Dillsboro, and Cherokee..then down to the NOC ..I can not remember how to spell the rivers name then back up hwy 28 to Franklin for a fireworks show the nite of the 4th.The bike ran strong all the way,I might have need to change the setting on the power commander in the mountains but it ran great....The bike does have the power for the mountains no doubt about that...
