Ugly Gas Tank Cap

This is a sharp looking bike but; Has anyone found a way to improve the looks of the gas cap?

You can find a gas cap cover on Ebay in several looks, just type in V-Star 1300 accessories, and there you are!

I like it

I like the gas cap, although it would be better if it were chrome. I like the looks of this style over a tank mounted gauge style. One of the many reasons I bought the 1300. I just like the clean looks of the tank without that huge gauge mount in the middle. But everybody has different likes and dislikes.

Chrome cover or.....

There is a chrome cover-bezel thing that can go over the cap assy, or around the flip up part of it that is inexpensive. However I also read somewhere where there is a chrome exchange outifit that takes your part and sends you a chromed one. Probably would apply to the fuel cap assy's found on our bikes. That's about the only option I know of ~ Butch

During my time finding a manufacturer to make risers I combed though many many chromer's and custom parts builders. There was a place that I should have saved that had the Vstar fuel caps chromed on an exchange basis. But I never saved the link. Then later I found the chrome covers that go over the OEM caps but didn't save that one either. It's out there somewhere..... if I run across it again I will post it. Maybe someone here has already seen the link too? Sorry I can't help you on this one right today. I will do some more investigating in the meantime. ~ Butch
