On the dealers recommendation I went semi synthetic for my first oil change. But I don't remember what his recommendation for the second oil change was. It was either semi or full synthetic. I have asked numerous people and the opinion seems to be split down the middle. So I thought I would ask here. For the second oil change, which I will be due for in about a week, Should I stick with semi synthetic or switch to full synthetic? If I stay with semi, should I go full on the third oil change?
When I do switch to full syn, I will go with Amsoil 10W-40 with their filter EAOM103. Does that sound like the right combination?
2nd change for me
I've always switched on the 2nd oil change. I was told by a mech that after 1K it's OK to switch over.

Filter change
Since the second oil change doesn't involve a filter change, doesn't that mix the oils? Or do you just change the filter every time?

filter change
I change the filter as well. You never want to mix different oil viscosities, but you can mix dino & synth of the same viscosity. Whether they require it or not, I always change the filter when I change the oil.
