Rookie from South Texas

I bought a 2008 V Star 250 just three months ago. Two weeks ago I traded in on a 2008 V Star 1300 Tourer. I was tired of geting beat up on the highway. I am new to the motorcycle world, but what a nice upgrade. It is the SeaShell color, very pretty. I put the Hard Krome Sideburners, and Dynojet PowerCommmander on this weekend. I had NO idea those pipes were that loud. You can definately hear me coming. I love the sound! I use my bike to commute back and forth to work, 120 mile round trip. I am open for any reccomendations anyone has to offer. Love this big bike!

Welcome and Enjoy

Welcome to the group of growing V Star 1300 riders. I think you will find you chose a great bike. I do 85 miles each day to work, and ride whenever the weather allows it. A couple of things to consider would be a new horn; the stock horn just does not cut it for safety. I put on the Steibel Nautilus horn and love it. Passing lamps are another great option for safety and you will probably find the seat not to be the greatest for those long commutes. I presently have the Mustang seat on the Keegstar, and it cured my back ache when riding, but I am now switching out to the Ultimate seat for a change of pace. Use this site it is great for ideas, of course you may end up like me and find yourself wondering if you need a second mortgage to pay for all the upgrades I buy when I see someone on the site with a great idea! Be safe and enjoy...Mike
