My wife and I spent the day cruising on our new 1300T (purchased June 28th), together with our friends on their '08 H-D Electra Glide Classic. We left home at 10 a.m. en route to the mountain gambling town of Black Hawk, Colorado. The trip took 1 hour, going north on I-25 through Denver, west on 6th Avenue, then west on I-70. Eventually connecting with CO 119, we wound our way through the canyon to historic Black Hawk, where we spent a few hours losing some money. In the meantime, however, we enjoyed a tasty buffet at the Riviera Casino. Late afternoon, our Harley friends rode back to Denver, while we continued on CO 119 for 34 twisty miles through portions of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests to the university town of Boulder, via Rollinsville and Nederland (elevation-8,200 feet). We went through Boulder, then took US 36 (the old Boulder turnpike) for dinner in Broomfield. 44 miles later, down I-25, we returned home at 9 p.m. Throughout the day, we encountered lots of luggage-packed motorcycles, many of which were no doubt returning from Sturgis. The 1300T performed flawlessly in every way and gave us 53.62 miles per gallon!
