I got caught in a downpour, a gusher with lots of wind, yesterday evening. Anticipating the rain, I put on my rain suit (always in my bags) prior to riding. The several-mile trip home was over a combination of a state highway, interstate plus neighborhoods. Now I know why I especially like the tall windshield on my 1300T: It saved me from getting soaked!
didn't get soaked?
My wife and I got caught in the rain for 3 hrs on the way home last monday, and I got pelted with rain behind the windshield. Now, some of the rain was driving in from my right side, hitting my eyes behind my glasses (ouch), but it also seemed to come whipping around the windshield with the wind. I was hoping for more protection than I got. Guess I need goggles, or a full face helmet even with the tall windshield.
Here's a funny story; when we got home, Rachel complained that her upper body was soaked even though she was wearing her expensive new jacket, and was upset that it didn't keep her dry even though it said "100% waterproof" on the label when she bought it. I looked it up on the internet, and it turns out that she had not zipped in the waterproof liner that came with the jacket - she thought that was just a liner for extra warmth! We had a good laugh at that one!

got lowers?
just wondering. i noticed a huge difference when i installed the lowers. my helmet visor hardly even got wet in a downpour.
Guess I was lucky,
Guess I was lucky, especially since the wind was blowing from my left side. I wear an HJC half helmet with ear flaps, and so does my wife. I have the short visor that comes with the helmet; my wife is more comfortable with an aftermarket flip-up visor.
Good rainsuit story. We both have cheaper Nelson-Rigg rainsuits. Hope they continue to keep us dry.
Rainstorm! P.S.
My 1300T's saddle bags didn't leak at all.
rainstorm
The bag on the right side leaked a bit on us (the side with the driving rain). ~ kevin
So, the bags....
So, the bags were able to hold the water in? Just kidding! LOL

Maybe you're right! Since
Maybe you're right! Since they don't leak from the outside in, I should see if they leak from the inside out.
