Hi all! I know that a lot of riders are using the 180/70-16 metzler on the rear. Has anyone used the 200/60vr-16? any comments? how does it handle? how is the fit inside of the swing arm? I'm getting ready for a new rear tire and aren't sure which size to go with. Either way my next tire will be a metzler. thanks Ken
Mechanic did it
The mechanic at my dealer installed this tire on his 1300. He stated it did not effect the handling and the look was very impressive.
Never heard of anyone using this tire
I never heard of anyone using this tire, but do remember seeing on a site that states the 4 1/2 " rim will accept a tire this size. Don't know if I'd risk it however.

Know of one.
When Tourvet and John visited my wife and I in Hibbing MN earlier in August we met a young fellow who had a black 1300. He stripped it down pretty much and put a different rear fender on and was running a 200mm tire on the rear. The guy was mostly impressed with Tourvets aircleaner set up and his pipes... the conversation drifted away from the tires. I don't think the fellow had problems with belt clearance which would probably be an issue to think about. The guy wants to put on a 240 mm tire in the future. The black Vstar 1300 is mostly street ridden in town. I don't think it is intended to be driven interstate the way it is set up. If I see that fellow again I will take a photo of his bike to post here. ~ Butch
