1300 dvd
I was curious about this dvd also. Is it worth the effort? ~ kevin
If you're in the USA ...
I got my DVD about two months after I bought my bike. I took a quick look - nothing thrilled me, so I put it aside.
I figured it was better to be outside riding, than inside watching a video.
HOWEVER, if you're looking for a video that is definitely worth the time and money, then get the "Ride Like a Pro" video as produced by Jerry "Motorman" Palladino.
Another video of his that is both entertaining and instructional is "Ride LIke a Pro On the Dragon." In this one, you see video taken by a professional video rider who spends all his time on the Dragon. Why so interesting? Because of ONE SEQUENCE where the video guy follows a rider who enters a right-hand sweeper at a manageable speed, but then see a van coming towards him in the other lane. Instead of focusing on his own lane, the rider fixes his eyes on the hood of the oncoming van, and guess what? He rides right into the hood of the van. (Fortunately both the rider and the van slam on their brakes and so the rider was not seriously hurt.)
It's the very best illustration I've ever seen of how your body and your bike WILL follow your eyes. You may "think" you're better than that, but if you haven't practiced "seeing through the curve" as Jerry Palladino demonstrates, then some day you'll fixate on the obstacle rather than the clear lane around the obstacle.

hi daveim from the island
hi dave
im from the island of malta europe and have no access to the vstar dvd. i always take advices and i appreciate your comment. but believe me to drive here in malta you must be a pro. or else youve had it. this island is about 30 miles from head to toe and about 15 miles width. population closing to half a million and almost all the families have thier own transport. metality here is that if you own a 125cc motorcycle youre crazy. if you own a 1--- cc youre ------. i also understood what you meant about the dragon caused ive watch the road several times on youtude but here you find dragons every second. there are hundreds motorcycle fans which unfortunatly we only meet on the early hours of sunday to avoid traffic. you must be crazy about motorcycles to own one here . the only pleasure you get is to go abroad to europe. ive been driving mc for the past 25 yrs now and thanks god only few minor accidents occured to me since now ( fingers dessorc) maybe im too cautious as i drive xvs 125 to work. or at work with a bmw rt 850 or for a sunday ride with my vmax and now my midnight candy star. sorry that ive taken so much of your time friend. tks dave for your advice and i will consider it
