Howdy! I recently purchased my '07 Star 1300 (new) in August and have since racked up over 1200 miles. I love the bike. I know this is a common feeling but really surprised me since I'm used to riding high performance bikes. The thought was "Getting older, time to slow down." Well, for a "Mid-Level" cruiser, I've been fairly impressed. I bought mine with the Corbin Stratoliner fairing, the chin spoiler, and the Strat Bags. My wife and I do a fair amount of local riding with trips out to the coast and up to the mountains (Sisters and Bend area). Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of you on the road. Cheers to all.

My 1300: The Other Woman
Nice bike back at ya!
Just looked at your other woman (what my wife named mine as well) and it seems we had the same problem with the bars. I'm all of 5'2" and not only was it killing my back to ride for over an hour but within 15-20 mins, my had was asleep as well. I got the Flanders Cruiser Bar- Taller for my reach problem (also has the 14.5" pull back) and like you, went with the ISO grips. Lastly, I added the Brakeaway Cruise control. Had this on other bikes and will never have anything else (minus electronic cruise when/if I get my gold wing). Love the bike. You plan on doing any performance mods? I was thinking about Baron's Big Air Kit and a Vance and Hines 2-into-1 exhaust (power commander needed). What about you?
Nothing Soon
I have already drilled my exhaust, and I'm happy with the sound. Not as loud as the aftermarket pipes, but definitely more than stock. If I do anything with pipes, it would be the Roadhouse slip-ons with the quiet baffle. I ride with a few that have pipes, and I do all I can to stay IN FRONT of them, they are LOUD when behind them. (God, I’m getting old! LOL)
As for an air kit, I drilled the stock air cleaner, and don’t believe adding one would buy me anything, other than a prettier air cleaner.
Only major change I have planned for the immediate future is seats. I keep wavering between mustang & ultimate.
Thanks much and that's
Thanks much and that's pretty nice country out there. Keep the rubber side down. =)
