I'm from central New Jersey. I currently ride a Honda Sabre, but need to upgrade to a tourer for the long distance rides. I'm seriously considering the V-Star 1300, and thought I would check out the site and see what is being said.
Best pure value found amongst a growing cruiser market......
I'll admit I'm biased, but only after doing a huge amount of research, after which I researched my research "just to be certain" I had the info I needed, and then I bought my bike. To this day, I cannot find a better pure value in the cruiser market than the 1300T. It does most things exceedingly well, and then some. THEN...once you make it "yours" by having it fit you the way it should...perhaps, with new handlebars and an aftermarket seat.....also, possibly even adding a few mods, including a new or modified air box and exhaust, also an added fuel management system (from Cobra, or another), you'll have a bike that will continue to absolutely amaze you during each and every ride you take. After 15,000+ miles, the "grin factor" only continues to increase and get better. : )
Stay well.

Outstanding ride
You have chosen to look at one great bike. I've had mine since May 4th of 2007 and would buy it again in a heartbeat. The bike handles well in just about every riding situation. From city driving to cross country touring to winding country roads. Can't comment on gravel or dirt roads as I don't use them in my travels. Throttle response is lively and the bike has plenty of power for riding 2 up. This bike has a lot of bang for the buck. The 1300 has that classic styling to go along with the high tech engine. The best of both worlds. So if you're serious about the 1300 you won't find a better bike in it's class. Go to the image gallery and check out what others have done to their machines. My name is Dave and my bike is named Candy. Pleased to meet you and hope you will join the ranks of the Yamaha 1300 riding crowd. You won't be disappointed.

The 1300T is a marvelous bike! Just came back from a 4 day trip down thru Oklahoma to ride the Talimena scenic byway and then backup to ride the "Pig" trail on AR 23 just out of Ozark, AR. and then on back home. The bike performed flawlessly, and I averaged 49.4 MPG even though we were pushing a gusty side wind ( 40mph+)the last 200 miles home. The bike was at home in the twisties just as much so on the interstate at 80mph. You will like it.

Welcome!
Feel free to look around and ask questions.
I think you'll find that the 1300 is a mighty fine bike. But I'm biased. :)
