Calling all of you Arizona V*1300 desert rats! Would you be interested in meeting up for food/ride somewhere in or between Tucson/Phoenix? Let me hear from you!
Life is too short to let the good times ride by.
Well,
What are we going to do? Is it next weekend? Nov.2. Meeting area. My email is AZ705 [at] hotmail [dot] com or we can post info on the Plan a Ride forum. Let us know, the wife and I are ready!
Here is an idea that I sent to CC this morning via email:
We could all meet in Marana, at Road House Steak House Cortaro Farms Rd. for lunch, or (if you are up to it for a long haul) Cycleworld kicks off their US tour of new motorcycles each year here in Glendale, at the Cardinal's football stadium. Bikes are free parking. Tickets are $10 bucks to go in. Loads of bikes to see, flying motocross riders, and test rides of all the major manufacturers of bikes. http://www.motorcycleshows.com/
Nitro,
Shot you an email regarding Glendale. Sounds good.
AZ Tourers: Both of these are good options. I am looking forward to either of the two (Cortaro Farms Rd or Glendale).
My thoughts:
* The Cortaro Farms Rd options sounds good for those of us with kids etc..., it is a good opportunity to get introduced to each other. A real "meet and greet." A chance for a scoot and hang out.
* The Glendale option requires a bit more time commitment.
Life is too short to let the good times ride by.
Count the wife and I in. Just give a weeks notice so we can arrange someone to sit the kids. This Sunday we are heading off your way Nitro, to the RIPS BAD RIDE. Bikers Against Diabetes. 2 yrs ago our middle child-oldest son- now 7 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. He is a real trooper. So it is sometimes hard for us to get someone to watch the kids for that reason.
But we would like to meet everyone that we can plus it gives us an excuse to get away too.
be safe, and we will keep in touch.
Chris,
My brother is a juvenile onset - Type 1, insulin dependant. He has run 5 marathons, traveled and has managed to keep on keepin' on since he was diagnosed 30 years ago. I can also say that my best friend, who was diagnosed with Type 1 at 12, eventually got married, went to college, has 3 kids and landed a a very good job in Wash, DC iand she s living a fullfilling life with managed and controled care.
Thank you for your efforts in educating us on the issue of Diabetes.
This week end the American Cancer Society is active in Southern Arizona. We are putting on the Douglas Relay for Life. A 24 hour walk-a-thon celebrating life and promoting cancer awarness. We beleive that with education, prevention and research that the threat of cancer can be reduced in our lifetime.
We will work with you and yours in getting together for a ride. Like I said" I live to ride"so any excuse to hit the highway is usually a good one for me, and I would enjoy a nice scoot up to PHX.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
