10250 KM in 49 days

Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy – that was the trip we made last September-October on our VSX1300 Tourer (2007), equipped with Mustang seats, "Zomo 550" and loaded as much as possible.
We drove mostly back roads, some of them in very bad condition.
No doubt, it is a great motorbike: powerful, very comfortable (for both riders) and fast enough on highways.

A dream trip

That's an awesome trip. I was wondering if the countries you visited have different grades of petrol like here in the States? I wouldn't think that European countries use any alcohol in your fuels. We have Octane ratings here with ratings of 87, 89, 90, 91 and 92. Am curious if your countries visited follow the same ratings? Is there leaded fuel where you rode or is it all unleaded? Thank you for posting your trip. 6400 miles is allot. Good for you. ~ Butch

petrol in the Balkans

I believe that the petrol on those countries ir rated more or less like European standard. Anyway I always tried to buy the best quality I found in Gas-Stations. I must say that I began the trip after riding 25000 KM on the VSX and I didn't have any kind of trouble till now (35500KM).

95 / 98

And European standard means 95 / 98, if I am not mistaken....
We do not have many fuelstations here with either alcohol or bio (at least not in Holland)

That must have been a great trip through some wonderful countries! Where are the pictures ;-)
Did you have any problems crossing borders etc ? Where do you come from ?
