Budget glove review

On a whim, I picked up a pair of Napa Glove Co's Deerskin Motorcycle gloves from my dealer for $21.95 plus tax. I liked the way they fit and I really enjoy the suppleness of the deerskin. They are not bulky, kinda lightweight, in fact and come with 40 grams of Thinsulate insulation. I did an A & B comparison between them and my Olympia Wind-tex gloves, which were around $60, tonight (42 degrees) and I gotta tell you, I think the deerskin gloves were a little warmer. I rode about 15 miles with each and neither let my hands get cold but I could feel a little more coolness in my fingertips with the Olympia gloves. They had both been stashed in the bike at outdoor temps so were basically the same temp when worn. I took an indoor break between the 2 so that my hands would be about the same temp going into each glove.

I'm pretty impressed with these gloves at that price. Of course, at that price, there are no extras like a waterproof membrane or rain/wind over-glove stored in a nifty gaunlet pouch but, if you are on a budget, these gloves should do you well in dry weather. There was also a pair without the gauntlet that had 100 grams of Thinsulate and they sold for $18.95.

Winter gloves

I purchased a pair of snow mobile gloves for riding and my fingers still get cold while riding in the high 20's / low 30's F. I now wear a pair of cotton work gloves underneath and that little bit extra helps, but my fingers are still cold by the time I get to work. It's about a 30 minute ride.
Does anyone know of a good pair of winter gloves that are good for winter riding?
Thanks,
Kev

These are great gloves.. i get them directly from the company as i live near there. Typically wear them in spring and fall or until our winter hits (realizing that we dont have a winter like most). Also think the reason they feel warmer than some other bulkier gloves is that that done fit tight so allow good circulation through hands which some gloves restrict.

I also have this pair of gloves...very comfy..I consider them spring and fall gloves.... too hot for summer and too cold for winter, but perfect any other time!
