Electrical system question

I have looked all over my owner's manual and the specs that Yamaha has online - cannot find the answer to his one. How much power does the electrical system on our 1300s put out? My better half wants to buy me a heated jacket liner and heated gloves, and I really don't want to say no to that - but, I want to make sure that I will have enough power to run the heaters in the clothing along with the lights, etc. on the bike.

Thanks.

Hey IslandGuy,

Power output.

Power output of ac magneto is 460W at 14V and 5000 RPM. Another piece of info which may be helpful is that the lights consume roughly 112W of that under normal operation. With the assumption being that your headlight is on, the tag light is on, you are applying the brake and have your turn signal on simultaneously. Your fuel pump and instrumentation use something, but should be relatively insignificant. If you have installed an air horn or heated seat, you should include the rating on that in your calculations. I wouldn't worry too much about that wimpy stock horn. Without actually doing the calculation, I would say that you should be fine running a vest and gloves. Just make sure your power source for that equipment is up to par. Meaning, the actual line you power those things from needs to be rated for enough current. I would also tend to think that a vest and gloves would draw substantially less current than the heated Corbin I have on my bike. I have no issues at all.

Fair winds~
